Geotextiles

Nonwoven

Non-woven geotextiles are designed to act as a filter or cushion. For applications where the subgrade contains rocks, a textile is placed under the liner to provide puncture protection. Other applications for nonwoven geotextiles are under riprap or around pipes. Also, this material can be laminated onto a geonet to manufacture geocomposites. (ASTM, ISO)

Woven

Woven geotextiles are designed to act as a separation layer or for soil stabilization. Read bed stabilization to prevent the overlying aggregates from being embedded into the soft subgrade below. Due to their high strength, they are used to disperse point loading over a larger area to prevent “pot holes” from developing. (ASTM, ISO)
